Testing for Residual Stain
If you use vital stains such as propidium iodide, ethidium bromide, acridine orange, thiazole orange,
Coriphosphine-O, Fura 3, or fluorescein diacetate, you may want to test for residual stain after
performing the routine cleaning procedure and before proceeding to your next application.
To test for residual stain, run unstained Immuno-Trol cells or CYTO-TROL control cells for your
application to ensure that the autofluorescent population is where you normally expect it. If it is
not, repeat the routine cleaning procedure.
