Using a screwdriver, remove the two screws securing each ‘U’ bracket to the pallet. Set the six
‘U’ brackets aside.
NOTE
The Biomek NX
P
instrument is no longer secured to the pallet.
Inspecting the NX
P
Instrument
Carefully inspect the instrument and accessories to ensure that there are no loose, missing, or
damaged parts. Inspection should include, but not be limited to, checking for:
• Damage to the covers
• Damage to the cables
• Missing, broken, or loose parts
NOTE
Use the packing list included with the Biomek NX
P instrument
to ensure that all parts have been
included with the instrument.
If you discover any damaged or missing parts, contact your Beckman Coulter Service
Representative immediately.
Moving the NX
P
Instrument to the Installation Site
After inspecting the Biomek NX
P
instrument, move the instrument and accessories to the
installation site.
CAUTION
The Biomek NX
P
instrument weighs 190 pounds (86.2 Kilograms). To avoid injury,
follow your safety officer’s instructions regarding lifting heavy objects.
CAUTION
The back of the instrument is heavier than the front. Take care not to lift the front
so high that it causes the instrument to fall backward.
CAUTION
When lifting the Biomek NX
P
instrument, grasp it only from positions on the base.
Do not grasp the ends of the large cover at the top of the instrument.
