Earthing of the machine

The earth connection must be made with the largest possible cross-
section, over a wide area and via a short connection to a conductive
fastener with a wide area. Beckhoff recommends the use of wide
connections with large contact surfaces. Wide earth straps are suit-
able for this. The table below illustrates typical suitable connectors:

Make sure that an optimally conductive connection is available at
the connection point for the protective conductor. To ensure this,
carefully remove paint, dirt, corrosion and all insulating components.
Use galvanized stud bolts and washers.
