Product overview
The CX2000 product family consists of individual modules, which can be assembled to form a customized
Embedded PC.
The CX2000 product family consists of:
• basic CPU modules,
• CX2100 power supply units,
• system, fieldbus and extension modules.
Basic CPU module
The basic CPU module is a fully functional PC and can be used in conjunction with a CX2100 power supply
unit as the smallest possible configuration. The basic configuration of the CX20x3 Embedded PC includes:
• a CFast card slot,
• two independent Gbit Ethernet interfaces,
• four USB 3.0 interfaces,
• and a DVI-D interface.
The basic CPU module features 128 kB NOVRAM as internal persistent data memory and can be used as
an alternative to a power supply unit with capacitive UPS or an external battery pack. In the event of a power
failure, important data are stored in the NOVRAM and are available again after a restart. Microsoft Windows
10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC or TwinCAT/BSD can be used as the operating system.
Extension modules
The basic CPU module can be extended with additional interfaces or storage media, as required. Up to four
modules of the type CX2500-xxxx can be connected on the left side of the basic CPU module. The
connection order is irrelevant.
Modules of the type CX2550 (e.g., hard disks/SSD modules) and a power supply unit of the type CX2100-
xxxx can be connected on the right. With the CX20x3 Embedded PC, maximally two lanes are available on
the right-hand side. A hard disk module (CFast, SSD) and an extension module can thus be plugged in on
the right-hand side. A different combination of two extension modules is also possible, but a CFast or hard
disk module can then no longer be plugged in.
