8.2.3 Generating the Final QC report
As described previously in this section, the BD FocalPoint™ GS System Results - By Rank
report details the progress of BD FocalPoint™ GS Review Station processing for each slide in
the print set. When generating a QC report, if all slides in the print set have not yet been
reviewed, the report is considered preliminary. When review is complete for the entire print set,
the QC report is considered final. The last page of the report displays a statement that
establishes whether the report is preliminary or final.
The final QC report provides a convenient list of the slides most appropriate for QC rescreening.
The following criteria are used to create this list:
1 To be considered for QC review, a slide must be evaluated as “Ready for signout” by a
reviewer using the FocalPoint™ GS Review mode of the BD FocalPoint™ GS Review
Station.
2 The remaining criteria are based on the slide’s ranking within its print set:

The BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler designates the highest ranked slides in a print set as
QC Review
.
• Slides evaluated as awaiting further review (AFR) by a BD FocalPoint™ GS Review
Station reviewer are not eligible for QC review. If (due to the number of AFR slides in the
print set), the number of slides eligible for QC review falls to less than 15% of the
number of slides in the print set, the list of QC slides is supplemented with additional
slides.

Review or Review.
Squamous This column displays whether or not sufficient squamous
cells were detected on the slide during BD FocalPoint™
Slide Profiler processing.
Endocervical This column displays whether or not sufficient
endocervical/transformation zone component was
detected on the slide during
BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler processing.
Date Time This column displays the date and time that the slide was
processed on the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler.
