Pump Station/Pump Station Low Profile
18.1
Principles of Operation
The Pump Station is designed to move coolant or coolant and debris
continuously from the Pump Station through an overhead pipeline to a
proper coolant system. Flow is maintained continuously to keep the
overhead return pipeline clear of debris.
Flow is constant into the cooling chamber at the rear of the working
section and overflows into the front section.
Flow is intermittent to the generator as signaled by the generator coolant
supply solenoid (the coolant line to the generator is always pressurized).
Coolant and debris draining from the generator together with the
overflowing coolant from the cooling section are pumped out of the
Machine into the coolant system via an overhead pipeline.
One important feature of the Pump Station is the ability of operators to
recover deblocked lenses easily where they occur by simply opening the
front access door to retrieve the item. Operation of the pump is
temporarily interrupted during this action and operation resumes once
closed. Detail is covered in the Operations Manual, separate from this
document.

Limits of Operation
Customers with generators utilizing lathe tools in the surfacing step
should contact Satisloh prior to installing this equipment. The physical
size of polycarbonate (and some HI strands) during surfacing with lathe
tools may be incompatible with the Pump Station. Strands generated in
the finishing step ARE compatible with the Pump Station.
Carefully following the Installation Piping Diagrams (supplied separately
from this document) are important to a successful operation. We take no
responsibility for errors in the piping installation which are contrary to the
design.
Operation of this product for purposes other than machining of organic
lens materials is at the customer’s own risk.
Mixing the production of organic and inorganic lens materials is not
recommended.
