8.4.1 Monitoring functions of feed module
m Monitoring function phase failure
The voltage of all three phases of the mains input is monitored. If one of the phases has
no voltage, the BUM 64S/A/F generates a WARNING. When the voltage returns within
10 seconds, the WARNING message is erased. If the voltage at the mains phase is miss-
ing for longer than 10 seconds, the message WARNING remains and the "ready-for-use
feed unit" will be erased.
m Monitoring function mains network failure
The voltage of all three phases of the mains input is monitored. If the mains voltage is
missing at 2 or 3 phases, immediately the message “WARNING“ is generated. When the
mains input voltage returns as long as the DC link voltage is above 300 V, the DC link is
charged again and the WARNING message is erased.
If the DC link voltage drops below 300 V after mains network failure or mains voltage dips,
the „ready-for-use feed module“ is erased. When the mains input voltage returns the wir-
ing of the X99AB-5/6 input determines the further behavior:
m if you apply shortly (> 1 ms) 24 V, the DC link is re-charged, the WARNING mes-
sage will be erased, and the "ready-for-use" is set again.
m if the input is permanently connected to 24 V, the DC link is automatically re-charged
after the mains input voltage returns. The WARNING message will be erased, and
the "ready-for-use" is set again.
(Prerequisite is, that a mains network failure time > 0 seconds is set. See "mains
network failure time" in the controller manual).

The following may occur , if you do not observe this warning information:
m serious personal injury m death
The hazard is: mechanical influence.
Carry out protective measures on the machine side, if you want to enable an automatic start-
up of the drive. The automatic start-up holds tremendous dangers for the operational person-
nel.
