Adjustment
Adjustment of Belt Tension
Caution
Be sure to stop the engine before adjusting
the belts.
Important
Make sure that the belt has the specified
amount of tension.
If the belt becomes slack due to frequent use, it
may jump or slip.
In addition, if it is overtightened, it may wear
prematurely.
If necessary, adjust it, and always check the
belt for appropriate tension.
Adjusting the Brush Belt
Caution
If the brush belt is incorrectly adjusted, the
brushes will not rotate properly.
Move the machine to level ground, then
apply the parking brake.
Lower the operating machine.
Stop the engine.
Remove the four bolts, and then remove the
belt cover.

Loosen the bolt, and then tighten the nut to
adjust the tension pulley.

Adjust the V-belt tension so that the belt
slacks by approximately 10 mm when you
press the middle of the belt with your finger
at 98 N (10 kgf).
