Audio

Listen to your favorite music while reading, or while doing other things with your

NOOK

, such as

browsing your library or shopping. You can also listen to audiobooks, podcasts, or any other MP3

Speaker and Headphones

You could listen on your

NOOK

’s built-in speaker, but we suggest you use a headset (not included)

NOOK

that have a mini jack (3.5 mm) plug.

This is the standard size for music players and personal computers.

Supported File Types

The audio player supports two file types:

•

MP3

: Audio files that use the MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 digital audio encoding format. Any MP3

file can be played, irrespective of its sampling frequency and bit rate.

•

OGG

: Audio files that use the Ogg Vorbis compression format.

Audio streaming is not supported.

Managing Audio Files

You manage audio files on your

NOOK

through its USB connection to a personal computer. For

more information, see “Files and Folders” on page 163.
