Replacing a fan
3.1.1
Replacing a fan in the OmniBus A18
If a fan is defective the LED
operating status [2] at the front changes from green to red and starts blinking. This
LED remains blinking as long as the failure persists; please refer to section
2.3.1 The front of the OmniBus A18
. One of
the possible reasons could be that a housing fan has failed. A housing fan can be exchanged during operation of
the O

A18. To exchange a fan follow the steps below:
•
Open the front of the O
MNI
B
US
2.3.6 Opening the front cover of the OmniBus A18
.
•
After removing the front cover, have a look at the fans. They are still spinning, but the defective fan will spin
too slow or not at all.
•
Wait until all fans have stopped spinning!
•
Open the
securing screws [2], [3] or [4] of the defective fan, please see
.
•
The fan is mechanically stuck to the housing and its power cord is plugged to the power supply. Therefore
first flap the fan slightly to the front and then lift it a little upwards to release it from the fitting. Then place it
in front of the housing in such a way that the cable is not tense, see the figure below:

Reattach the new fan in the fitting and turn it upwards. Take care that you do not clamp the cable between
fan and housing.
