3. Replacing a bad LED from an ILite LED board
3.7 Removing the mask

AUTION
:
Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD). To avoid equipment damage from electrostatic discharge,
use static control precautions in servicing this equipment. Field service or maintenance personnel should
be properly grounded before servicing. Wear an ESD wristlet when servicing this equipment. The use of
antistatic gloves is recommended.
Before you can remove the mask from the LED module, you have to remove the LED module from the module
base plate first.
Necessary tools
• Phillips screwdriver H1.
• Small screwdriver.
• Tweezers.
How to remove the mask from a LED module ?
1. Is this a LED module from an ILite 10 tile ?
If yes, release the four screws on the back of the LED module using a Phillips screwdriver.

2. Release the four corners of the mask.
Caution: The mask of the ILite 6/8/12 series is glued with black silicone on the corners and in the middle. Take care not to
damage the LED’s.

3. Peel of the mask completely.
Note: Do not reuse a mask which was glued to the LED board, because the mask is deformed after removal. Use a new mask
for reassembling.
