Getting started

This installation guide describes how to install the air inlet filter and exhaust air kits. For more information, including technical specifications

or product specifications, visit the product website at www.barco.com or read your projector user manual.
Note! The exhaust air kit is an accessory for Barco F50- and CT- series projectors only.

2

Installation Guidelines

•  The exhaust kit must only be used with ceiling mounted projectors.
•  The air filter kit is sold separately.
•  The exhaust air kit and air inlet filter can be installed separately of one another.
•  If the exhaust is to be directed into a false ceiling, this area must be well-ventilated. However, attention must be paid to ensure that the

ventilation does not override the projector’s internal fans.

•  Minimum safety distance between the projector (with kit mounted) and the ceiling is at least 15 cm (5.9”).
•  Do not try to force parts into position; if there is resistance, remove the part, reposition and try again.
•  Do not overtighten screws.
•  Do not block the air inlet or the exhaust air outlet.
•  Hot air is exhausted from the rear air outlet. Do not place any heat-sensitive objects in the vicinity of the exhaust vent.

Note! The exhaust air kit is only intended for use with ceiling mounted projectors

Verify that the installation area meets

the relevant technical and environmental

requirements, as illustrated above.

Position the air inlet filter onto the projector grill,

making sure that the plastic guide on the filter

enters the grill properly. Install the filter with a

M3x8 screw at the right side (reference 1) and two

M3x14 screws at the left side (reference 2).

Loosen the two ceiling mount fastening screws

(reference 3 and 4). Remove the center rib.

Slide the duct into the ceiling mount tracks

as illustrated. Make sure that the side of the

duct clicks into position, as shown in the detail

illustration. Install the rib side screws (reference

5). Replace and fasten the two ceiling mount

screws (reference 3 and 4).

Position the ceiling mount cover on the projector

so that the tabs at the front of the ceiling cover

enter the slots on the rear of the projector (view

A). Install and fasten the two screws (reference 6).

Position the side cover on the projector as

illustrated. Install two M3x8 screws at the rear

end of the projector (reference 7) and two M3x20

screws at the front end of the projector (reference

8).

Thread the flexible hose (reference 9) for the

exhaust air onto the exhaust duct and fasten it

with the hose clamp (reference 10).

1. Verify installation requirements.

2. Install air inlet filter (optional).

3. Install duct to ceiling cover.

4. Install ceiling mount cover to projector.

5. Install side cover to projector.

6. Mount flexible hose.

Note! Successful installation of the air inlet

filter will trigger automatic changes in the
