MiPIX-20 support grid introduction
Introduction
The size and shape of a MiPIX system vary from application to application. Because of that there exist no standard frame for a
MiPIX system. So, an adapted (unique) support grid has to be designed per application. It’s obvious that the design of the support
grid for the MiPIX-20 blocks must comply with several demands regarding dimensions, strength, accessibility, etc.
The housing of the MiPIX-20 block is provided with snap-fits for fast and easy attachment to a support grid (frame). It’s important to
use the correct cutting dimensions in the design of the support grid for optimal attachment of the pixel blocks with the support grid.

MiPIX-20 support grid design guidelines
Design guidelines
•
Respect the cutting dimensions used for the snap fit feature of a MiPIX-20 block.
•
It’s recommended that the grid spacing is a multiple of the MiPIX-20 pixel pitch. Two or more times 20,3636 mm. This is
important to get a good impression of the video content displayed.
•
The plate thickness of the frame must be 1,5 mm.
•
Provide the support grid with the necessary attachment points to fasten the support grid.
•
It is recommended to brush the support grid with grain 120 to smooth away all burrs. This will facilitate the snap in of the pixel
blocks.

These adapted cutting dimensions facilitate the grounding of the MiPIX-20 blocks. The pixel block must then be provided with a flat
spring. This flat spring connect the internal grounding of the pixel block with the support grid as soon as the pixel block snaps in.
