5.4 EMC notice
General information
This device is for use in professional healthcare facility environments only.
With the installation of the device, use only the delivered external cables and power supply or a spare part
provided by the legal manufacturer. Using another can result in a decrease of the immunity level of the device.
WARNING: Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided
because it could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other
equipment should be observed to verify that they are operating normally.
WARNING: Use of accessories, transducers and cables other than those specified or provided by
the manufacturer of this equipment could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or
decreased electromagnetic immunity of this equipment and result in improper operation.
WARNING: Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables
and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the MDMX-
MNA, including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of
this equipment could result.
CAUTION: This equipment is not intended for use in residential environments and may not provide
adequate protection to radio reception in such environments.
The EMISSIONS characteristics of this equipment make it suitable for use in industrial areas and
hospitals (CISPR 11 class A). If it is used in a residential environment (for which CISPR 11 class B
is normally required) this equipment might not offer adequate protection to radio-frequency
communication services. The user might need to take mitigation measures, such as relocating or re-
orienting the equipment.

The MDMX-MNA belongs to the medical graded Group 1 equipment: this means it makes no use of radio-
frequency energy in the frequency range 9 kHz to 400 GHz that is intentionally generated and used or only
used locally, in the form of electromagnetic radiation, inductive and/or capacitive coupling, for the treatment of
material, for inspection/analysis purposes, or for transfer of electromagnetic energy.
The MDMX-MNA complies with appropriate medical EMC standards on emissions to, and interference from
surrounding equipment. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause
harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that
may cause undesired operation.
