Beginning Edge Setup Procedure for the BOL 27K-PS/NS-01-S115
Optical Line Sensor
Setting up the sensor
Note
:
Assuming factory defaults upon setup. To reset the sensor, enter
the MENU (step 4 below) and press the + button until RESET (rESE) is
displayed. Press the SET button.
1)
Place a 150mm strip of reflective tape (BOL 27K-TAPE-01) on a flat surface
90˚ to the face of the sensor.
2)
Maximum sensing height is 200mm. Measurement range on tape is 150mm at
this distance. (Note: at closer distances, the analog scale will be less).
3)
Once the sensor is mounted, press and hold the
+
and
–
buttons
simultaneously for a minimum of 6 sec. until
TAPE
flashes. (The area of the
tape has been taught and the 4-20mA scale has been designated).
4)
Press the
SET
button for a minimum of 6 sec.
MENU
will display on the
screen.
5)
Press the
+
button until
SAVE
is displayed.
6)
Press the
SET
button to save the beginning edge mode.
Note:
The sensor will automatically default to a ready state if a button has not been
pushed within 8 seconds while programming. If a mistake is made upon setup, wait a
minimum of 8 sec for the sensor to exit the programming mode and reset to factory
defaults.
Note:
The measured object does not have to completely remain within the measureable
window on the tape during area measurement mode. Edges of material can extend
beyond range of sensor.
Setting Tolerances for Discrete Output
The discrete output can be triggered to turn on between two values.
1)
Place the material under the sensor to determine where the desired tolerance
levels will be set (referencing the value displayed on the sensor screen for
high and low values).
2)
Press the
+
button for a minimum of 2 sec.
Th_1
will be displayed.
3)
Press the
SET
button.
4)
Press the
+
or
–
button to increment/decrement the value where the discrete
output setting is desired to
turn on
.
5)
Hold the
SET
button for a minimum of 1 sec to save the low-end point.
6)
Repeat steps 2-5 and select
Th_2
in this procedure to teach the high-end point
where the discrete output will
turn off
.
