BIS U-4A7-082- _1C-07-S4
Industrial RFID-System – Read/Write Head
No. 953647 EN ∙ K21; subject to modification.
Installation
CAUTION
Ultra high frequency electromagnetic waves
The antenna of the read/write head emits ultra-
highfrequency electromagnetic waves. Additional
measures must be taken to prevent health hazards.
►
Determine the mounting position of the antenna in
such a way that a safety distance of at least 20 cm
between the antenna and workplaces of persons is
ensured.
►
Make sure that people do not stay in the vicinity of
the antenna for an extended period of time.
►
Use suitable measures to shield areas that are
explicitly not to be covered.
For dimensions and tightening torques, see
figure.
The devices must be permanently installed. The
corresponding fastening nuts must be tightened to the
specified tightening torques.

1) Pin 2 is a configurable digital output on which various signals of functions
can be output (see configuration guide).
►
Connect data line to IO-Link master (for connection
cables and accessories, see
www.balluff.com
on the
product page).
Shielding and cable routing
Both unshielded and shielded cables can be used to
connect the devices. In systems with strong
electromagnetic interference, it is recommended to use a
shielded cable. The cable must be routed tension-free.
In addition, grounding the BIS U-4A7 housing can minimize
the influence of electromagnetic interference.
