HF/LF RFID App (BIS M/L/C) (continued)
6.8
Working with templates
With the help of a template, existing data on a data carrier
can be displayed and interpreted in a display format freely
selected by the user. In addition to the templates that can
be freely configured by the user, two default templates are
available.
6.8.1 HEX and ASCII default templates
Two templates are created in the app by default. They
cannot be changed or deleted, but are used by the
Expert
and
Admin
user roles to be able to customize any location
on a data carrier.
–
HEX
: All data read out from the data carrier is
displayed in hexadecimal notation without prefixed 0x.
–
ASCII
: All data read out is displayed in ASCII format.
Characters that cannot be displayed and characters
that do not conform to the extended ASCII format are
displayed as an empty square.
Data carrier metadata
Metadata provides information about basic tag information
that is not user data. It includes, for example, the data
carrier identification number (UID), the capacity of the data
carrier that has been read out (user data) and the
Balluff data carrier type.
Cursor position
When clicking in the data field, the position of the byte in
front of the cursor appears at the top of the screen (next
byte to be edited; counting starts at 0).
Start address
Defines the address as from which the data carrier is read
out.
Length
Defines the number of bytes read as from the start address
(enter 0 for maximum length).
