Mobile RFID devices
4.3 Battery
The battery for the basic device is a lithium-ion battery with
22.8 Wh (6000 mAh/3.8 V).

A spare battery is available as an accessory and
can be charged parallel to the basic device in the
charging and transmission box.
4.4 Plug-in modules
UHF write/read module
The UHF write/read module is available in country-specific
versions with different frequency bands (see chapter 8.3
on page 46):
– BIS U-830-4-011-H-0
UHF write/read module EU
– BIS U-830-4-011-H-1
UHF write/read module US
UHF RFID tags can be read with the UHF write/read
module.
The module can be used on the top module slot of the
basic device.

The module can be used on the top module slot of the
basic device.
LF plug-in module BIS C-830-4-011-A
BIS C-830-4-011-A is a RFID LF plug-in module that
operates at an operating frequency of 70/455 kHz and is
used to read and write Balluff BIS C-1_ _ data carriers in
industrial environments. Mobile basic devices of the
BIS V-830-3-011-B-00_ series can be expanded to a
mobile LF RFID system in conjunction with the LF plug-in
module and a read/write head (BIS C-3_ _ /05-S4).
LF/HF plug-in module BIS M-830-4-011-A
BIS C-830-4-011-A is a digital plug-in module that
provides the interface between the mobile basic device
and the RFID read/write head. Mobile basic devices of the
BIS V-830-3-011-B-00_ series can be expanded into a
mobile RFID system in conjunction with the plug-in module
and an RFID read/write head.
Mobile LF RFID system: Use read/write heads of the
series BIS VL-3_ _ in read or write Balluff RFID data
carriers of the series BIS L-1_ _ / BIS L-2_ _.
Mobile HF RFID system: Use read/write heads of the
BIS VM-3_ _ series to read or write Balluff RFID data
carriers of the BIS M-1_ _ series.
