Signalqualität (Signal Quality)
5.5.1 Beschreibung
Die Signalqualität wird in Prozentschritten als Wert zwi-
schen 0 und 100 % angegeben. Wenn die Signalqualität
nicht bereitgestellt werden kann, wird ein Ersatzwert von
0xFF (255) ausgegeben. Der Schwellenwert für die Über-
wachungsfunktion kann eingestellt werden und dient zur
Definition von zwei Zuständen der Signalqualität. Gleich
oder oberhalb des Schwellenwerts gilt die Signalqualität
als gut, unterhalb des Schwellenwerts gilt die Signalqualität
als schlecht. Ein Zustandswechsel von guter zu schlechter
Signalqualität löst das IO-Link-Event

aus.
Die Ausgabe der aktuellen Signalqualität kann sowohl bei
der Einrichtung als auch bei der vorausschauenden War-
tung unterstützen. Beim Einrichten können der Standort,
die Ausrichtung und die Umgebungsbedingungen ange-
passt werden, um ein zufriedenstellendes Niveau der
Signalqualität zu erreichen. Wird die Signalqualität regel-
mäßig protokolliert, kann einer Verschlechterung der
Leistung präventiv entgegengewirkt werden, indem Stand-
ort, Ausrichtung und Umgebungsbedingungen angepasst
werden, um einen Ausfall zu vermeiden.
Zusätzlich bietet die Überwachung der Signalqualität eine
sofortige Reaktion im Falle eines kritischen Ausfalls. Diese
Reaktion wird ausgelöst, wenn die Signalqualität unter
einen einstellbaren Schwellenwert fällt, und gibt Entwar-
nung, wenn wieder ein zufriedenstellendes Niveau der
Signalqualität erreicht wird. Der Signalzustand wird auch
durch eine orange LED angezeigt, die aufleuchtet, wenn
die Signalqualität unter dem Schwellenwert ist.
Die Funktion kann deaktiviert werden, indem der Schwel-
lenwert auf Null gesetzt wird.

5.5.2 Mathematik/Algorithmus
Die Signalqualität wird mit Hilfe der RSSIs (Received Signal
Strength Indicator) ermittelt.
Der RSSI-Wert wird bei jeder Aktion mit einem einzelnen
Tag (Multi-Tag: Schreiben, Lesen) ausgelesen und gespei-
chert. Es werden maximal 50 Werte gespeichert und dabei
immer der älteste Wert überschrieben.
Sobald 50 RSSI-Werte vorliegen, wird der Durchschnitt der
drei höchsten Messwerte der 50 RSSI-Messungen ermit-
telt. Der berechnete Wert gibt die Signalqualität an.
Auch in einem optimalen System können
schlechte RSSI-Messwerte auftreten. Dies kann
durch den Einsatz von vielen Tags, den Abstand
oder auch die Polarisierung der Tags vorkommen.
Eine Signalqualität von 100 % ist daher nicht
zwingend erforderlich.
Liegen keine 50 RSSI-Werte vor, wird der Wert
0xFF ausgegeben.
Die Signalqualität kann verwendet werden, um ein System
bei der Inbetriebnahme zu bewerten und später während
dem Betrieb Veränderungen am RFID-System frühzeitig zu
erkennen.
