Operating Instructions
1. Place the material flat on the rolls as shown in the top figure.
Make sure that material is placed parallel to the floor and
touching all three rolls at the same time. This condition is
called “zero position”.
2. Rotate the pressure adjustment screw on the top of the
bender to move the upper roll down and position it to apply
enough force to firmly contact the material without bending or
denting the material.
3. Using the scale located to the right of the upper roll, turn the
adjustment screw 5 increments to apply the beginning bend
pressure. To avoid deforming the piece, DO NOT apply more
force than necessary.
4. To get desired radius, make consecutive passes through
rolls using left and right foot pedals and gradually lower the
upper roll after each pass. If the radius is larger than needed,
move the upper roll down to apply more force. Keep track of
your up/down position using the calibrated scale as a guide.
This will help ensure consistency of parts.
CAUTION:
Always wear proper eye protection with side shields, safety
footwear, and leather gloves to protect from burrs and sharp edges. When handling
large heavy sheets make sure they are properly supported.
