B-Mode – 2D Imaging 125
To return to the original image:
•
Click Zoom/Pan under Image on the right side of the screen.
Persistence
Persistence is the amount of time over which B-mode image frames are averaged on
the screen. High persistence increases the contrast in the image, but tissue movement
will blur a high-persistence image.
You can select the persistence level of the ultrasound image.
To adjust B-mode persistence:
•
Click Persist under General on the left side of the screen and select the value
you want (or point at Persist and press
[
+/-
]
).
The available values range from 1 (no averaging) to 8 (maximum averaging).
The current setting is displayed on the screen next to Persist.
Edge Enhancement
Edge enhancement is a way of emphasizing contours so that edges stand out more
clearly.
You can select the degree of edge enhancement of the ultrasound image.
To adjust edge enhancement:
•
Click Edge under General on the left side of the screen and select the value you
want (or point at Edge and press
[
+/-
]
).
The available values range from 0 (no enhancement) to 7 (maximum
enhancement).
The current setting is displayed on the screen next to Edge.
Auto
Increasing the resolution of an ultrasound image results in a reduction in frame rate.
The system can automatically adjust several parameters to give the best combination
of resolution and frame rate.
In Auto, you can choose the priority given to resolution over frame rate (Res/Hz)
from one of four options.
To turn Auto on and off:
•
Press
[
Auto
d
]
NOTE:
When Auto is turned on, Multibeam, Line Density and Extended Res
will be automatically set and will not be displayed on screen.
