Mounting
4.1
Choice of mounting location
The most important aspect of motion detection is the correct choice of mounting location.
➜
Mount the detector so that the main direction of movement is always tangential (transverse to
the device).
➜
Always mount the detector at the location with the lowest amount of daylight.
4.1.1
Mounting location BL4
If the smallest movements are to be detected (e.g. working with the PC keyboard), we recommend
selecting the mounting location directly above the desk. This ensures that the detection can be guar
-
anteed.
4.1.2
Mounting location BL4-C
The BL4-C motion detector has a narrow detection range especially for corridors.
➜
Mount the corridor/ceiling motion detector so that the red marker arrow labels or Fresnel lens
areas in the detector's lens point in the direction along the corridor.
➜
Remove the red marking arrow stickers from the lens after you have connected and installed the
detector and checked that it is working properly.
NOTICE
Observe mounting height!
The Fresnel lens areas, which increase the detection range of the motion sensor in the
longitudinal direction of the corridor, are designed for a mounting height of 2.50 m.
➜
It is essential to maintain a mounting height of 2.4 – 2.6 m!
A lower mounting height can significantly reduce the detection range.
A greater mounting height can lead to blind areas where no movement is detected.
