Place the sensor in Mute Mode and then use the Axon Device Manager (ADM) app to connect
to the sensor and check for firmware updates. Connecting to ADM verifies the sensor is
working correctly using Bluetooth and that the sensor’s clock is set. Optionally, you can
upload the sensor’s logs after checking for firmware updates.
Troubleshooting
This section covers general troubleshooting. If your issue persists or it is not listed, please contact
Technical Support (see page 16 for contact information).
My LED continues to rapidly blink yellow during calibration.
• Possible Casue:
This indicates that the sensor is not able to detect the insertion and
removal of the pistol.
Remedy:
This can occur if the calibration was started with the pistol removed from the
holster. Place the pistol in the holster and then begin calibration. Once the LED starts to
rapidly blink yellow, remove the pistol from the holster. If this does not correct the issue,
check the placement of the device to ensure it is appropriately located.
Calibration is failing and the LED blinks red at the end of the procedure.
• Possible Cause:
This indicates that there was an error during calibration and that the
results of calibration were not acceptable to appropriately function in Field Mode.
Remedy:
Ensure that the pistol is fully removed from the holster for the duration of
the calibration procedure. If this does not correct the issue, check the placement of the
device to ensure it is correctly located.
My Axon camera does not activate when I draw my pistol from my holster.
• Possible Cause 1:
The Axon camera or the Signal Sidearm sensors are not powered on or
do not have sufficient battery power to function properly.
Remedy 1:
Ensure that the camera is powered on and has sufficient battery power. If you
have received a notification indicating that your Signal Sidearm sensor is low on battery,
the battery needs to be replaced. You can check the status of the battery by entering
Mute Mode (hold button for 5 seconds). If the battery is low, the LED will blink red rather
than green. If the battery is low or the sensor does not respond to the 5-second press,
try replacing the battery.
• Possible Cause 2:
The Signal Sidearm sensor is loose or was not installed correctly.
Remedy 2:
If any of the screws holding the sensor to the bracket or the bracket to the
holster have come loose, the sensor may not be able to consistently determine the state
of your pistol. Tighten all screws and check to see if that solves the activation issues.
Additionally, check to make sure the Signal Sidearm bracket is correct for your holster.
• Possible Cause 3:
The Signal Sidearm sensor was installed on a non-approved holster or
the incorrect bracket was used to install the sensor.
Remedy 3:
Obtain the correct bracket from Axon for your holster and reinstall.
• Possible Cause 4:
The Signal Sidearm sensor was subjected to a major impact, became
submerged, or was damaged in some other way.
Remedy 4:
The sensor may have been damaged in a manner where it is no longer able to
