Bluetooth
The MP30 has an optional Bluetooth audio interface. The MP30 may connect to a mobile
phone allowing the MP30 user to communicate over the phone line from the MP30
connected headset.
Bluetooth pairing: The first time a mobile phone and the MP30 shall be paired (connected),
the MP30 must be made visible for other devices. This is done in the MP30 Bluetooth menu,
setting it “VISIBLE”. This will make MP30 visible for 2 minutes and the phone should be
connected during this time.
During the time the MP30 is visible on Bluetooth a “B” will be
flashing in the display. If the phone has been connected previously, the connection can be
initiated from the phone without making the MP30 visible, as long as MP30 Bluetooth is set
to “ON”. Disconnecting the Bluetooth connection is also done from the phone menu.
When the phone is not in an active call, the MP30 audio is connected as normal to the base
station. When making an outgoing call from the phone or answering an incoming call on the
phone, the MP30 audio is automatically connected to the phone. The received audio in the
MP30 may be a mix of the phone audio and the audio coming from the base station with a
lower volume setting. The microphone audio will only be sent to the phone, and nothing of
this conversation will be transmitted to the base station. Note that in a Bluetooth call, the
microphone is “hot” and audio is transmitted always. There is no VOX/PTT mode while in a
Bluetooth call.
If pressing PTT1 during an active Bluetooth call, the microphone audio is opened up to the
base station and the received audio mixing is inverted with respect to gain. This means that
the microphone audio is transmitted to both the phone and the base station. The base station
audio will be heard at full volume and the phone audio will be attenuated if this is enabled in
the configuration. When releasing PTT1 again, the normal phone call audio paths are
restored.
As soon as the call is terminated using the phone menu or by the remote party
disconnecting the call, the audio reverts to normal intercom mode.
