Principle of operation
The EOC 1-31 and EOC 2-31 respectively, use the G.hn standard to build an Ethernet-over-coax network via the
coaxial cables of the house installation. Television and radio will continue to broadcast over it.
•
Up to 16 EOC 1-31 or EOC 2-31 (also mixed) can establish connections with each other.
•
The EOC 1-31 or EOC 2-31 can also be connected to the previous models EOC 1-11 and EOC 2-11.
•
The EOC 1-31 or EOC 2-31 cannot be connected to AXING EOC devices other than the types mentioned or
to third-party products.
•
EOC 1-31 and EOC 2-31 use the return path range of 5...65 MHz. All components in the distribution
structure must passively transmit this frequency range in both directions.
•
The attenuation in the coaxial network must not exceed 77 dB between the EoC units. For optimal data
rates, the attenuation should not be higher than 50 dB.
•
If the EoC signals are fed into the terrestrial range of a multi-switch, then this input must be passive.
Furthermore, in order to use the full data rate of the EoC system, the terrestrial input must support the
frequency range from 5 to 65 MHz. In a multiswitch cascade system, the conditions apply to the entire
terrestrial branch.
