Locking and unlocking user accounts
When the security lock-out feature is enabled, and a user enters an invalid password five
consecutive times, that user’s account will be disabled for a specified number of hours, or until it is
expressly unlocked or the appliance is power-cycled. If a locked-out user tries to log in during the
lock-out period, an error message is displayed. A closed-lock icon appears next to the names of
locked-out users. Security lock-out, when enabled, applies to all user accounts.
An appliance administrator may specify the lock-out period. A user administrator may unlock only
user accounts; an appliance administrator may unlock any type of account.
When the security lock-out feature is disabled, no users will be locked-out.
NOTE:
Disabling security lock-out has no effect on users who are already locked-out.
