AmbiMate sensor module
U5 in the AVT9152 evaluation kit is the AmbiMate sensor module MS4 series from TE Connectivity
(2314277-1) that comes with four core sensor solution for motion (PIR), light, temperature and humidity
sensing. The AmbiMate module 3.3V power is sourced from U6 LDO powered by VDD_SUPPLY when
jumper J2:7-8 is ON.
The AmbiMate sensor module I2C bus read and write command addresses have been configured for 0x55
and 0x54 respectively.
5.10.4.1. Temperature sensor
The temperature sensor is combined with the relative humidity sensor in the same package. The sensor’s
I2C output is read by the AmbiMate’s microcontroller. The actual performance may vary if the evaluation
kit is enclosed in an enclosure. Enclosure should allow for air circulation to ensure sensor is responding to
temperature changes within the intended environment of use.
Please refer to TE document 108-133092 for product performance information.
5.10.4.2. Relative humidity sensor
The relative humidity sensor i
s combined with the temperature sensor in the same package. The sensor’s
I2C output is read by the AmbiMate’s microcontroller. The actual performance may vary if the evaluation
kit is enclosed in an enclosure. Enclosure should allow for air circulation to ensure sensor is responding to
humidity changes within the intended environment of use.
Please refer to TE document 108-133092 for product performance information.
5.10.4.3. Ambient light photo sensor
The photo sensor mimics the responsivity of the human eye. The analog output from the sensor is read by
the AmbiMate’s microcontroller’s analog to digital converter. The ambient light impinges directly on the
sensor with no light pipe.
Please refer to 108-133092 for performance of product.
5.10.4.4. Passive infrared motion sensor (PIR)
The PIR senses motion. The output from the sensor is read by the AmbiMate’s microcontroller.
Consideration should be given for the placement of the evaluation kit to maximize the PIR sensors
effectiveness. A Fresnel lens already included in the kit.
