Creating Multiple Channel Groups with a Single MOS ID
174
While a newsroom computer system can use non-standard ports for the incoming and outgoing
sockets and the advanced settings can be customized, Avid recommends that the default settings
be used.
The first four settings specify the port numbers for the sockets used to communicate with the
MOS-based newsroom computer system. The defaults, as defined in the MOS protocol
specifications, are: 10541 (upper) and 10540 (lower).
4. Send Inventory on connect should be selected.
5. If you intend to use Object Placeholders, select Create object placeholders.
6. For graphics systems, such as AMG Journalist, you should select Parse channel from MOS
Abstract.
7. Select the desired MOS field for graphic name. This setting affects how the graphic items appear
in the Title column of the Command playlist
Creating Multiple Channel Groups with a Single MOS
ID
Command support the ability to create multiple channel groups with a single MOS ID for the
graphics system. This requires that the ActiveX plugin supports the ability to populate the MOS
Abstract with the specific item channel for the device.
For ENPS or other MOS based systems, the single MOS ID problem is resolved by placing the item
channel in the MOS Abstract. Command parses the item channel, and assigns the respective channel
group accordingly.
For example, an item created and assigned to channel "1", should have
1:<itemID>:<replaceabledata> in the MOS Abstract. Command will parse the 1 and colon, and
assign the item to the channel group that contains channel 1.
