Confirming Successful Setup of a GPI Panel
This section provides a way to verify that the installation and configuration of a GPI panel was
successful.
To verify successful setup of a GPI panel:
1. At the Command Workstation to which a GPI panel is connected, click the Start button and
select Programs > Avid > Service Framework > Avid Health Monitor.
On the Hosts tab, services are listed by computer and device. The Processes tab lists by services.
2. Navigate to the Avid GPI Device Service and select it.
3. Expand the Information section. The Device Name shows the hostname.board number. If the
Board Status is connected, the service is installed in the right location and the board number was
set correctly. The Last Input Value will typically show zero (0) if there’s no button pressed on the
panel. The Last Event should be empty, and Event count should be zero (0).
4. Press any of the GPI panel buttons. Health Monitor will refresh after a short delay.

The time it takes Health Monitor to report a GPI event is slower than the response of Command to
that GPI input.
