For redundant systems, to ensure identical functionality, make certain that the device settings—all
input pins and event names and types—are the same for every GPI device service installed.
18. Click Apply.
19. After modifying the GPI device service system settings, restart the service.
Restarting the GPI Device Service
After configuring the GPI card, you must restart the device service.
To restart the Avid GPI Device Service:
1. Click Start and select All Programs > Avid > Service Framework > Avid Workgroup Properties.
2. On the Services tab, click Advanced.
3. Select Avid GPI Device Service.
4. Click Restart.

Avid also recommends restarting the client software at the Command Workstation.
Toggle
GPI output. Quick on/off. Seldom used with Command, this is designed
more for a toggle switch-type of workflow and not a button-type of
workflow. It will trigger an action each time the switch changes
position—up to down or down to up.
