3D Effects Option Problems
Table 8 lists problems that may occur with the 3D Effects option.

Problem Solution
The power light on the I/O board is not
lit.
•
Shut down the Macintosh.
•
Power off the Expansion Chassis.
•
Make sure that the Expansion Chassis is
plugged into a working power source.
•
Open the Expansion Chassis cover.
•
Check all power harness connections
from the 3D Effects boards to the power
supply. Make sure that all connections are
correct and secure. See “Connecting the
Power Harness” on page 58 for details on
the harness connections.
•
Power up the Expansion Chassis and
check the light again.
•
If you continue to have problems, contact
Avid Customer Support.
SCSIProbe reports a missing or invalid
SCSI ID.
•
Shut down the Macintosh.
•
Power off the Expansion Chassis.
•
Check the SCSI ID switch settings of each
of the devices on the Macintosh SCSI bus.
Make sure that you have no duplicate
SCSI IDs and that none of the external
devices have a SCSI ID of 0 (zero) or 7.
If you find a duplicate SCSI ID, change
one of the IDs to an unused ID number.
Power cycle the device after you change
the ID.
If you find a device with an ID of 0 or 7,
change the ID to an unused ID number.
Power cycle the device after you change
the ID.

Make sure that there are no extra SCSI
terminators in the SCSI chain. The 3D
Effects boards are internally terminated
and must be the last device on the Macin-
tosh SCSI bus.
