Locking and unlocking the phone
The user can lock the phone to prevent the use of the phone when they are away. Locking the
phone does not logs out the user, but the user can make emergency calls and receive calls. The
user can lock the phone using the menu option in the phone.
You can set a PIN to unlock the phone. The user has to use the PIN you set to unlock the phone.
You can set the limit on the number of failed attempts to unlock the phone. After the user exceeds
the set limit you can block the user temporarily to unlock the phone. You can set the time period
for which the users should be temporarily blocked.
You can use the one of the following to set the PIN, the limit on the failed attempts, and the time
for blocking the user:
•
46xxsettings.txt
file
• Web interface of the phone
If you do not set a PIN, the SIP password is the default value for unlocking the phone. Even if you
use the default password, you can set the limit on the number of failed attempts, and set a time
period to temporarily block the user.
