Database Upload
You can upload suitable databases from the programming PC to the system. You
must
ensure the database being uploaded comes from an INDeX system with the
same or lower level of software. In all cases check with Avaya for details about
database compatibility.
WARNING
As with all maintenance actions, we strongly recommend that you
download a copy of the existing system database before performing a
database upload.
The system stores the uploaded database in RAM until you instruct that it should
replace the main database. If the system loses power, it also loses the uploaded
database. The presence of an uploaded database does not affect the backup
databases.
– Note:
Uploading the database does not take the IVM Lite prompts and
messages. To upload the voice prompts and messages, use the following
instructions for FTP Database Upload, but use the file name
vs
instead of
db
.
Uploading with Kermit is not recommended, but if used, then select
Upload
from
System | IVM Lite
.
