Ensuring the MGP default gateway IP address is set
Communication Manager release 4.0
requires
that the built-in VoIP module of the G700 Media
Gateway has a default gateway IP address. To ensure that this IP address is set, perform the
following steps:
1. Log into the G700 Media Gateway console port (see
Processor with a Direct Serial Connection
2. Type
configure
to obtain the
P330-1(configure)#
prompt.
3. At the
P330-1(configure)#
prompt, type
session mgp
.
4. At the
MG-???-1(configure)#
prompt, type
show ip route mgp.
The list of mgp routes appears.
5. Check that a Gateway IP address exists for Destination
0.0.0.0
.
6. If a Gateway IP address does not exist, type, at the
MG-???-1(configure)#
prompt,
set
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
<IP_address>
, where
<IP_address>
is the default
gateway IP address.
After you reboot the media gateway, the IP address is active and available.
