
V mode configuration requirements
The following configuration requirements support V mode:
• The system must include only V modes. You can configure a system with a mix of non-V
and V modules in V mode. However, non-V modules are not enabled.
• V mode require Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 Release 4.1 or later.
• V mode requires 8394 SF/CPU.module.
• V mode must be enabled.
Chassis slots and modules
The following figures show the location of the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 Series modules
in the Ethernet Routing Switch 8310 or 8306 chassis.
Caution:
Do not install Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 modules and Ethernet Routing Switch 8100 or
8800/8600 modules within the same chassis. Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 Series software
does not support mixed configurations. A mixed configuration can damage the modules and
void your warranty.
