Assigning IPv6 addresses to the Linux system

Assign IPv6 addresses to interfaces on the Linux system.

Procedure steps

1. Navigate to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-<interface number>.
2. Enter the following command:

IPV6ADDR=<ipv6 address>

3. Add IPv6 addresses, if required, by using the following command:

#ifconfig <interface number> inet6 add <IPv6 address>
