.
Use only an approved charger models to charge
the battery
Use only either the original, integrated charger of the
loader, or an external Avant quick charging station to
charge the battery. This ensures that the charge
voltage and current are optimised in different phases
of the charge cycle. Correct type of charger will
communicate correctly with the Battery Management
System electronics of the battery, preventing
damage of the battery due to e.g. overheating during
charge process. See page 78 for more information
about chargers and charge process.
WARNING
Risk of fire - Use only correct
type chargers
. Generic forklift
truck chargers or other electric
vehicle chargers must never be
used. See information in this
manual.
CAUTION
Risk of fire, and electric shock
from sparks and arcing - Shut
down external charger or unplug
from mains power before
disconnecting it from the
battery.
During charging high
current passes through battery
connector. If charger is unplugged
abruptly, arcs or sparks can form.
See page 78.

In case of fire
In the event of fire, it is important to be prepared and
to know how to extinguish a fire as soon as possible
after noticing the fire. Know where fire extinguishing
equipment is located near your working site. At some
areas a fire extinguisher may be mandatory. Keep a
multi-purpose, approved type fire extinguisher
available near the place where you store the loader.
The lithium-ion battery in the Avant e6 loader can be
put out with a general purpose fire extinguisher. The
battery contains electrical interface, and flammable
liquids and gasses. Fires are classified according to
the burning material. Thus, a fire extinguisher
meeting the requirements of EN 3 Class ABC, or
similar type of fire extinguisher, delivering equal or
higher performance, is recommended.
In case of an accident
As a first measure, try to minimize any further
damage that may occur. Inform other people. If
possible, turn off the vehicle. Inform fire department
or related rescue authorities.
In case of fire
First move all people away from the burning vehicle.
Avoid inhaling smoke. Call fire department. Use fire
extinguishers whenever possible.
Fire extinguishing
In case it is safe to approach burning vehicle
(meaning that personal protection equipment is used,
temperature and wind conditions are safe to
approach burning object), use a general-purpose fire
extinguisher ("general/all purpose” fire extinguisher
suitable for electrical and chemical burns, such as
EN 3 Class ABC), or sand, to put the fire out. Note
that sand may be difficult to apply effectively. If the
fire has reached the battery of the loader, notice that
due to the chemical properties of lithium-ion batteries
can cause a damaged or partially burnt battery to
self-ignite again.
CAUTION
Mechanically damaged or partially
burnt battery must not be left
unattended. Battery may self-ignite
due to the chemical properties of
lithium-ion batteries.
