Working with Hangers
You can add hangers to ducts, pipes, cable trays, and conduits.
Hangers are a type of style-based content, which means you create and modify the styles that represent them
in Style Manager. For an introduction to style-based content, see
Working with Style-Based Content on page
85.
Configuring Hanger Styles
A hanger style specifies two structural member styles that define
■ The type of drop rod to use
■
The type of channel to use
You need to create these structural member styles before creating a hanger style.
TIP To create a structural member style, switch to the Architecture workspace, click Manage tab

Structural Member Wizard , and create a style using the Structural Member Style Wizard.
To create a hanger style
1 Click Manage tab

Style & Display panel
➤
Style Manager .
2 In the left pane, expand Multi-Purpose Objects, and select the Hanger Styles category.
If the Hanger Styles node is not listed under Multi-Purpose Objects, enter the hangeradd
command and follow the prompts to add a hanger to your drawing.
3 Create the style, and configure its general properties as described in Creating a Style on page
601.
4 Click the Hangers tab.
5 For Channel Style, select the structural member style to represent the channel.
IMPORTANT You can select from the structural member styles in the current drawing that include
both of the following words in their names or descriptions: hanger and channel.
