Associative Movement
You can move schematic symbols or line segments without breaking their connections with the rest of the
geometry. This feature is called associative movement. Used in conjunction with certain grips, associative
movement enables you to move a schematic run component quickly and accurately.
For example, when you move a schematic symbol to a new location, the line segments attached to the
symbol can move, shrink, or stretch to maintain a connection with the schematic layout. You can also move
a schematic line segment without affecting the location of schematic symbols or other segments of the run.
Selecting Components
You must select a component in order to modify it. There are several ways you can select one or more
components in a drawing:
■
Move the cursor over an object, and click to select it.
■
Drag the cursor from left to right to select only objects that are entirely enclosed by the rectangular area.
