New Features in This
Release
NOTE
AutoCAD

MEP 2010 is built on AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture. See the Help systems for those products
to learn about their new features and enhancements.
New Features for Getting Started
Improved Ribbon-Based User Interface
Ribbon tabs group commands according to the current architectural task. For example, there is one tab for
annotating a drawing and another for generating output files. Seeing only the tools required for the current
task reduces learning time. Logical and thematic panels group subtask commands, making them easier to
find and access. For more information, see
on page 38.
New Features for Drawing Electrical Systems
Panel Schedule Enhancements
As you design and refine electrical systems, a graphical representation shows that an electrical panel schedule
is out of date. Adding or changing circuits and panels, plus certain other operations, require that panel
schedules be refreshed. Use the Regen command to update the schedule. For more information, see
on page 459.
Wire Add Grips on Devices
As you lay out electrical designs, use the new Add grip (
) on electrical devices to invoke the add-wire
mode for connecting one or more devices. When using the Add grip, you add wire of the same style as that
used by the previous use of the command. For more information, see
on page
413.
