Storing Data in a Drawing

Select a Field Name from the list.

Enter a value for the selected field that is applicable to the selected entities.

Click OK.
To assign one or more fields to a single entity

Select an entity to which you want to assign a field.

On the Database menu, click Edit Entity Fields. The Edit Entity Fields
dialog box appears.

Click in the value text box for a field and enter a new value. Repeat this
step to edit other values.

(optional) Click Edit Again, click another entity, and repeat step 3.

Click OK.
NOTE
The Edit Entity Fields dialog box can be resized, in order to access or
view the fields for an entity.
Calculated Values
Instead of entering a constant value in a field, you can assign it a calculated
value. AutoSketch updates the calculated value each time the drawing
changes. For example, the calculated value “%Length” returns the length of
a line, arc, circle, polyline, or polygon and stores the length in the field. If
you change the length of that entity, AutoSketch instantly updates the
calculated value assigned to that entity. If that field is visible, you can see the
change.
You enter a calculated value just as you would any other value. AutoSketch
returns the text or numbers to the field automatically. There are specific
calculated values for the five different field types. AutoSketch ignores the
calculated value if the field type is not correct, for example if %Length is used
in a string field.
NOTE
Dimensions and text entities cannot have fields assigned to them.
