Changing Isometric Origin Settings
The 3D Effects Options dialog box allows you to control the way the isomet-
ric origin is selected when using Transform Isometric tools. When Use
Default Isometric Origin check box is unchecked, AutoSketch requires you to
click a point of origin from which the skew is applied. When this option is
checked, AutoSketch automatically skews the entity from the default isomet-
ric origin. The location of the default origin depends on which isometric
command you are using:
■
Transform Top Isometric originates from the lower-left corner of the entity
and skews along 30- and 150- degree axes.
■
Transform Left Isometric originates from the lower-right corner of the entity
and skews the entity along 90- and 150- degree axes.
■
Transform Right Isometric originates from the lower-left corner of the entity
and skews the entity along 90- and 30- degree axes.
To change the way the isometric origin is selected
1
Click the 3D Effects button on the Standard toolbar. The 3D Effects toolbar
appears.
2

3D Effects Options dialog box appears.

Check the Use Default Isometric Origin check box at the bottom of the
dialog box. When this option is checked, AutoSketch automatically skews
the entity from the default isometric origin. When this option is
unchecked, AutoSketch requires you to click a point of origin from which
the skew is applied.
