District heating tank FSN and FSN-E
21. Inspection, Servicing, Maintenance
B F
a) During heating-up the excess water must be seen to drip out of the safety valve out-
let (in the case of non-pressure connections the excess water will drip out of
the mixer unit valve). When fully heated-up (c.85 °C) the excess water volume is
c. 3.5% of the storage tank volume.
The function of the safety valve should be checked regularly. When lifting or turning the safety
valve testing knob to the "Test" position the water must flow unhindered out of the body of the
safety valve and into the drainage funnel.
Caution
: The cold water inlet plumbing and parts of the storage tank connection fittings can
become hot as a result.
If the water heater is not heated up or if no hot water is extracted then there should be no water
dripping
out of the safety valve. If this is the case then either the water feed pressure is too high (install
via 5.5 bar pressure reduction valve) or the safety valve is defective. Please called the installation
expert immediately!
b) In the case of extremely hard water then the removal of the boiler scale accumulating in the stor-
age tank's inner boiler as well as the freely deposited lime-scale must be removed by a profes-
sional after one or two years of operation.
The cleaning process is carried out by removing the flange opening of the heating flange and
cleaning the storage tank. When re-installing the heating flange it is crucial to use a new seal. The
specially enamelled inner container of the water heater must not come into contact with boiler
scale solvent - do not use the de-calcifying pump. Remove lime-scale with wood and either
remove it with a vacuum cleaner or wipe out with a cloth.
Afterwards the device must be thoroughly rinsed (in accordance with ÖNORM H5195-1) and the
heating up process is to be observed as per initial commissioning.
c) In order to make substantiated claims under the guarantee provided by AE AG the in-built pro-
tective anode requires an inspection by the expert at maximum intervals of 2 years of operation.
The protective current resister below the heating unit fixing screw must not be damaged or
removed during servicing.
d) Do not use any scouring agents to clean the device and do not use any paint thinners (such as
Nitro, trichloride etc.)
It is best to clean it using a damp cloth with a few drops of a liquid household cleaning agent.
22. Malfunctions
B F
If the storage tank water does not heat up please check whether the circuit breaker (automatic circuit
breaker) in the distribution cabinet or else the melting fuses have been tripped and check the setting
of the temperature regulator.
In any other case do not attempt to rectify the fault yourself. Either turn to a licensed installer or to
our Customer Service Department for assistance. Professionals often only need to make a few quick
adjustments to return the storage tank to full working order. Please provide the type designation and
serial number of your storage tank when reporting the issue, which you will find on the rating plate.
