Note:
You can query the handset number from the handset (see
Identification Numbers (IPUI or RFPI) and Handset Numbers on page 83
The base station, whose Paging key you are pressing, will be assigned to the
previously selected base number (for this handset only). If, for instance, the Base 1
in use option appears under Select Base, it means that Base 1 has already been
assigned to a base station. If you want to keep this assignment, select the next
available base number.
As an alternative to pressing the Paging key, you can switch the base station to regis-
tration mode by clicking Activate registration mode from within the PBX's configu-
ration program / manager.
If the registration fails, one of the following messages may be displayed on the
handset:

Assigning Internal Telephone Numbers to the Handsets
To assign internal numbers to the individual handsets, use the PBX's configuration program or mana-
ger.
•
"Registration Failed" (e. g.: The base station was not in registration mode be-
cause the 30-second time window was exceeded).
•
"Incorrect PIN" (The system can be protected from unauthorized access
using a 4-digit base station PIN. 0000 is the factory setting of the PIN. For
information on how to change the PIN, refer to

"Too many HS. ..." The list of handsets registered at the base station is full.
