SYSTEM CONNECTIONS

TUNER SECTION

TUNING INTO A STATION MANUALLY

1. Press the FUNCTION button to TUNER.

2. Press BAND button and tune a station.

3. Press the TUNING button to select a station

FOR BETTER RECEPTION
FM

Connect the external FM
antenna wire to the FM
antenna terminal. Fully
unwind the wire antenna.
Then extend the wire
antenna and place it in the
position that sounds best.

NOTE: DO NOT CONNECT TO AN OUTSIDE
ANTENNA

AM

Adjust the AM loop
antenna for the
best sound.

TO SEARCH FOR A STATION AUTOMATICALLY

Press the TUNING button UP or DOWN for 1 to 2
seconds, and a station is searched for
automatically. After tuning in to a station, the
search stops.

The search may not stop at a station with a very
weak signal.

IF THE FM STEREO BROADCAST SIGNAL IS
WEAK

Set FM STEREO button until “ST”indicator appears
in the display for a while. Background noise will
be reduced but the signal reproduced will be
mono.

PRESETTING STATION

The unit can store a total of
40 stations. They can be
tuned in to by selecting
their preset numbers. It is
possible to store stations of
any band in order of your
choice.

set the unit to CD mode. The
display will show:

TURNING ON THE UNIT

3. Press Function button once

again to set the unit to Aux
mode, the display will show:

Press the power on button, the display will light up. Select the desired function and the
corresponding function indicator will light up.
Press the power button until the display show the time.

CLOCK SETTING (at standby mode)

1. Press memory/clock

button in clock mode.
Hour blink.

2. Press skip buttons to

set correct hour

3. Press memory

button to make
minutes blink.

4. Press skip buttons

to set correct
minutes and press
memory button to
start the clock.

Note:

 If a button is

not pressed for 10
seconds, the clock
set mode will be
exited automatically.

TIMER OPERATION

The power can be turned on and off automatically
at a preset time so that you can wake up to CD or
radio. Make sure the clock is correct before timer
setting.

TIMER SETTING

1. Press clock button until

timer ‘00’ is in the
display.

2. Press memory button in

clock mode. Hour blink.

3. Press skip button to set

correct hour.

4. Press memory button to

make minutes blink.

5. Press skip button to set correct minutes

6. Press memory button to set the duration of timer

to be on. It can be set from 5 minutes to 240
minutes.

Cancel the timer function

Press the timer button until the timer indicator
turns off. It can only be operated when the unit is
turned on.

IMPORTANT

Switch off the power before connecting speakers
and other equipment.

1. AM LOOP ANTENNA TERMINALS

Do not connect to
an outside
antenna. Connect
the supplied AM
loop antenna to
receive the AM
broadcast signal.

2. CONNECTION WITH OTHER OPTIONAL

EQUIPMENT

To listen to audio signals
from external units
through this unit.
Connect the red plug to
the Aux R jack, and the
white plug to the Aux L
jack.

LISTENING TO THE CONNECTED EQUIPMENT

a. Press the FUNCTION button to AUX.

b. Play the external source.

3. POWER OUTPUT METER SOCKET

Insert the black cable with the plug of the
Subwoofer to this socket. This connects the unit
to the Power meter indicator in the subwoofer.

4. SUB-WOOFER OUTPUT TERMINAL

Connect the speaker cable for the Subwoofer to
this terminal. Arrange the speakers to ensure a
stereo effect. The main sound direction should
not be interfered with by furniture, curtains  etc.

5. FM ANTENNA WIRE TERMINAL

Do not connect to an outside antenna. Connect
the supplied FM antenna to this terminal to
receive an acceptable FM signal.

TUNING INTO A PRESET STATION

Press the Skip/Preset button

6. To preset more than one

station,

repeat steps 2 to 5.

MANUAL MEMORY PRESETTING

This feature allows you to set stations into memory.

PRECAUTIONS

Follow the advice below for safe and appropriate
operation.

ON PLACEMENT

• Do not use the unit in places which are

extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid.

• Place the unit on a flat and even surface.
• Do not restrict the air flow of the unit by placing

it in a place with poor air flow, by covering it
with a cloth, or by placing it on carpet.

ON SAFETY

• When connecting and disconnecting the AC

cord, grip the plug and not the cord itself.
Pulling the cord may damage it and create a
hazard.

• When you are not going to use the unit for a

long period of time, unplug it.

ON AC VOLTAGE

• Before use, check that the rated voltage of your

unit matches your local voltage.

ON CONDENSATION

• When left in a heated room where it is warm

and damp, water droplets or condensation may
from inside the CD player.

• When there is condensation inside the unit, the

unit may not function normally.

• Let it stand for 1 to 2 hours before turning the

power on, or gradually heat the room up and
dry the unit before use.

received, including interference that may cause
undesired operations.

Should any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power
cord and refer servicing to a qualified technician.

6. SPEAKER CORD CONNECTION

Connect the right speaker to the R terminal, and
the left to the L terminal.
Connect the wires
with the printed
white lines to the
red (+) terminals
and the plain-black
wires to the black
(-) terminals.

WARNING:

Connecting speakers other than the speakers
supplied with the unit may damage the unit.

7. POWER CORD CONNECTION

Before use, check that the rated voltage of your
unit matches your local voltage.

Connect the AC cord to an AC outlet. The clock
will be displayed.

Caution:

 To prevent electrical shock, match wide

blade of plug to wide slot, fully insert.

TUNER SECTION (... continue)

NOTE
If a button is not pressed for 10
seconds the preset mode will be
exited automatically.

In some extreme cases, due to shock, excessive
static electricity or changes on supply voltage,
the unit may not operate, and you will not be
able to activate the control on the unit.

In this case, please turn off the power, then
disconnect the AC power cord. To resume
operation, connect the AC power cord into the
power outlet again.

1. Open the battery door.

2. Insert two AAA

batteries.

TO INSTALL BATTERIES

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL CORRECTLY

• Point the Remote Control at the REMOTE

SENSOR located on the unit.

• When there is a strong ambient light source,

the performance of the infrared REMOTE
SENSOR may be degraded, causing unreliable
operation.

• The recommended effective distance for

remote operation is about 19 feet (6 m).

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

When batteries become weak, the operating
distance of the Remote Control is greatly reduced
and you will need to replace the batteries.

NOTE:

 If the Remote Control is not going to be

used for a long time, remove the batteries to avoid
damage caused by battery leakage corrosion.
