Configure port forwarding so that the device's Data interface forwards SIP signaling
packets from the Internet (hosted IP-PBX or WAN) directly to the VoIP entity (i.e., on
the LAN interface), and vice versa in the 'Port Forwarding' page (
Configuration
tab >
Data Settings
menu >
Firewall
submenu >
Port Forwarding
), as shown below:

Configure static NAT so that the NAT translates the Layer 3 source IP address of
packets received from the Voice entity to the device's WAN IP address for the
configured ports used by the SBC application, in the 'NAT' page (
Configuration
tab >
Data Settings
menu >
Firewall
submenu >
NAT
), as shown below:

9.2.5.1 Survivability and Alternative Routing
The example in this subsection enhances the configuration described in ''SBC
Configuration Example'' on page
to include the SBC survivability feature. The
survivability feature ensures the continuity (survivability) of calls even if the Proxy server
(e.g., IP PBX) does not respond. In normal operation, the IP PBX serves the Enterprise's IP
Phones, and calls are therefore, routed to the IP PBX.
The survivability feature provides the following survivability mechanisms:
If the IP PBX does not respond, the SBC application ensures that calls between IP
Phones within the Enterprise LAN are maintained.
If the called destination is not a registered user, the calls are routed to the PSTN.
The example described in this subsection is based on the previous example, but requires
the the following additional settings:
Define a SIP Interface for the device ("GW/IP2IP" application) located on the LAN
SRD.
Enable keep-alive for the Proxy Set (#ID 1) pertaining to the IP PBX IP Group.
Define classification by Proxy Set for the IP PBX IP Group (already defined in ''SBC
Configuration Example'' on page
).
