ROOM SCAN
The room scan mode on the MC-6011 is more limited than on the MC-4500 and MC-5500 because of the
limited number of buttons on the MC-6011. While you can access rooms like on the larger keypads, you
DO NOT have the ability to turn them on. You can adjust room volume levels and turn off rooms already
on but you cannot turn on rooms that are off.
Room scan lets you temporarily control another room. There are two room scan modes, AUTO SCAN and
MANUAL SCAN. Pressing the Sel button lets you toggle between auto scan or manual scan. Auto scan
will search for the next active zone, skipping all those that are off. If the system is off the keypad will
display ALL OFF and then AUTO SCAN indicating there are no active zones in the system. When auto
scan is selected, the Up and Dn buttons initiate a scan starting with the first zone through the max room
(see max room setting). This will be indicated by the display showing SCANNING….. When a room is
active, the display will briefly show the name of that room and then update to show what input it is set to.
The scanning control now becomes the control for that room, allowing for transport control (other than the
Sel button’s function), volume control and room off. The up/down navigation buttons will allow you to auto
scan up or down. The initial auto scan is always up, regardless of the scan direction you choose.
MANUAL SCAN lets your control scan all rooms. However, because you cannot turn on a zone that is off,
it is not very functional on the MC-6011.
KEYPAD LOCK
The keypad lock mode lets you lock any individual keypad or all keypads (MC-6011, MC-5500, MC-4500,
MC-3000 OD and MC-3800 OD keypads only). When a keypad is locked it still receives feedback from
the system to show the current status for inputs and second source functions but will not allow any buttons
to function. The setup menus are still accessible when a keypad is locked. A user settable 4-digit code is
required to access the keypad lock menu. The default code is 0000. Press the Mode button until the
display reads KEYPAD LOCK and then press the Sel button. The display will show CODE?, prompting
you to enter your 4-digit code. Using the Up or Dn buttons will enter the first digit and pressing Sel will
advance the cursor to the next digit. If you miss a digit, press Sel repeatedly to start over with the first
digit. When the proper code is displayed, press the Sel button. If you wish to lock this room or another
room, simply press the Up or Dn button. However if you want to either Lock All rooms or Change Code
(the access code) you must press the Sel button repeatedly after entering the code. The keypad will then
toggle between ROOM LOCK, ALL LOCK, and CHANGE CODE.
To enter ROOM LOCK, press either the Up or Dn buttons. The control will display THIS ROOM, indicating
you may now lock or unlock the control you are using. For room lock, your control will always be the first
choice regardless of its zone number. Pressing the Up button will lock the control, indicated by the display
showing LOCKED. The Dn button will unlock the control, indicated by UNLOCKED on the display. To
choose a different zone to lock use the Sel button to advance to the desired room. Each zone name will
be displayed as you scroll through them, limited by the max room value. Again, to Lock or Unlock a
particular room use the Up or Dn button respectively
When ALL LOCK is selected, use the Up or Dn buttons to lock and unlock all zones in the system just like
room lock.
In the event a customer has locked keypads and can’t remember the code or the process to unlock the
keypad, recycling power on the Suite 8x8 or Suite 16 will reset all keypads to the unlocked position.
To CHANGE CODE, press the Up button. The display will indicate CODE?=, prompting you to enter a
new 4 digit code. Using the Up and Dn button select the first numeric value in the four number code. Use
