LVI-3800
The LVI-3800 is a low voltage relay control device that provides up to seven contact closures correspond-
ing to a keypads: >, <, >>, <<, stop, pause, and main buttons. It is useful for controlling devices that lack
either an IR or RS-232 control interface. To lock a source button to control the LVI-3800, make certain that
you are in the SOURCE CNTRL. Use the >> or << buttons to navigate until the display reads LVI. Press
> to enter the LVI menu and the display will read LVI 1 and IN SOURCE 1. To select a different source
input label, press the Up or Dn button and the display will advance to the next IN SOURCE #. To select a
different LVI Address (there are eight), use the >> or << buttons. When the appropriate link is displayed,
press the Sel button to lock in this link. The keypad will respond LVI OK, indicating that the source input
label will now track this LVI address.
No Function
No Function is useful in rooms where you do want to be able to select a component but completely
remove all control options. As such, users can listen but they can’t touch. To lock in a No Function for a
source, make certain that you are on the Source Control level and press the >> button until the display
reads NO FUNCTION. Then press the > button and the display will cycle between NO FUNCTION and IN
SOURCE 1. To change the input source label, use the Up and Dn buttons. When the desired input source
number is displayed, press the Sel button. The keypad will read NONE OK and revert to showing the link.
To exit the source setup mode, press the || button until the display reads SOURCE CONTROL.
Source Labels
Press the >> button to advance to SOURCE LABELS. Source Labels are the names of the sources that
are connected to the Suite 16 or Suite 8x8. The keypad’s display can read up to eleven characters. This
permits you to define that component by name. Whether you are using eight or less sources, more than
eight, or the full sixteen sources on a Suite 16 System, the keypads need to be programmed with all
sixteen input names. By default, inputs 9-16 are pre-labeled in the keypads as INPUT 9 through INPUT
16.
While the keypad is displaying SOURCE LABELS, press the > button. The display will offer two options
accessed by pressing the >> or << buttons (STNDRD LABEL or CUSTOM LABEL). When the display
reads STNDRD LABEL, press > and the display will read FORMAT A. Using the >> or << buttons will
advance through the six standard formats (A-F). These formats coincide with the standard ADA formats
found in the ADA product Guide. These make labeling sources quick and easy and also provide a good
starting point for even custom source labeling. While a desired format letter is displayed, press the > (not
Sel) button to lock in that label set. The keypad will echo LABEL OK. To exit the Standard Label setup
mode, press the || button.
To customize source labels for either the first eight or all sixteen source labels, use the >> or << buttons
until the display reads CUSTOM LABEL. Then press the > button. The display will read the first of sixteen
inputs, INPUT 1. Using the >> or << buttons, you can navigate through all 16 source inputs. When the
display is on an input whose label you wish to alter, press the > button. The first character will blink on the
selected label.
You can now proceed to change the label either character by character or using a library of premade
source names. Use the VOL UP or VOL DN buttons to access the 32 pre-made options. To create
completely custom labels or modify a premade label, use the Up and Dn buttons to change characters
and the >> and << to move the cursor position. When the label you wish to save is correctly displayed,
press > to lock in changes and the display will confirm LABEL OK. To exit source labeling completely,
press the || button until SOURCE LABEL is displayed.
