3.0 INSTALLATION
Before connecting these products, make sure that the signal levels of the
related equipment match the levels specified for the 979 converters:
• Nominal digital audio signal is 0.5 volt at 75 ohms
• Nominal analog audio level is 1 volt RMS
Most consumer audio equipment matches these parameters and will not
cause any problems.
• Connect these converters using high-quality patch cords. Do not
connect cables longer than 20 feet (6m) into or out of these products.
Either optical or coaxial cables may be used on the digital connections.
• If desired, mount the 979R or 979T to a surface using the built-in
mounting holes.
• The Model 979R accepts common sample rates from 44.1 to 192KHz.
If the 96KHz sample rate is required from the Model 979T, contact
Audio Authority Service at 800-322-8346 for instructions.
• Power the converter(s) from the included 12 volt DC power supply and
observe desired performance.
