Left and Right Hood Lock

Removing
– Remove the bolts -arrows-.
– Remove the hood lock -1- until the cable is visible,

– Release retaining tab -1- -arrow A- and remove control cable

bracket from mount -2- -arrow B-.

– Remove control cable fitting -3- from release lever -4- on the

lid lock.

– Remove the lid lock.
Installation
• For the correct tightening specifications; refer to

⇒ “1.2.4 Hood Locks Assembly Overview“, page 16

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
– Adjust the hood. Refer to

⇒ “1.2.3 Hood, Adjusting“, page 14

Release Lever Mounting Bracket

Removing
– Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to ⇒

Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Removal and Installation .

– Remove lower A pillar trim. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr.

70 ; Removal and Installation .

– Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.
– Remove hood control cable -4- from the bracket and remove

at the idler pulley -arrow-.

– Detach control cable fitting -5- from operating lever -6-.
– Remove operating lever mounting bracket -3-.
Installation
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• For the correct tightening specifications; refer to

⇒ “1.2.5 Hood Control Cable, Control Cable Operating Lever

Assembly overview“, page 17

– The control cable fitting must be inserted correctly in the op‐

erating lever.

– Insert the control cable in the idler pulley and press the control

cable sleeve into the bracket.

– Installing the lower A-pillar trim. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep.

Gr. 70 ; Removal and Installation .

– Installing the instrument panel cover on the driver side. Refer

to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Removal and Installation .
